What is Agile Sky?
Agile Sky is a professionally designed and engineered, permanent and invisible, installation of a Starlink Mini satellite terminal on the Pilatus PC-12 airframe.
It is installed under an STC, wired into the aircraft power system, and interfaced to a purpose designed in-cabin WiFi Gateway. This combination ensures easy and secure operations for passengers and crew during flight.
Rather than being a temporary mount stuck in a window (at a highly undesirable angle), Agile Sky points the Starlink Mini antenna directly upward. It is physically positioned on a custom designed aircraft mount, located under a radio transparent section of the existing airframe.
This makes the installation invisible and also ensures that the solution operates with no aerodynamic penalty (because there is no additional 'bump on the roof')
Designed in Collaboration with Pilatus. Installed by a Pilatus approved facility.
Agile Sky was designed in collaboration with Pilatus, in order to ensure that the solution meets the quality standards both of Pilatus and of you, as a Pilatus customer.
This broadband Internet solution has been through a detailed design review and long term operational testing during an extensive development process.
The system is installed according to work instructions specified under an approved STC (Supplementary Type Certificate), in order to deliver a service that is reliable and supportable on your aircraft.
The system is installed directly by Pilatus at their Part 145 approved facility in Adelaide, SA (YPAD) or by another Approved Maintenance Organisation designated by Pilatus as appropriately qualified to perform the system installation.
All installation costs are included in the price of Agile Sky.
Key system components are installed using purpose designed mounting systems. All system wiring and mounting hardware is supplied as part of the physical mounting kit provided to the approved facility that installs the system.
Cost Effective yet High Performance
Agile Sky has a very cost effective installation and running cost, and offers excellent performance via the global Starlink Internet service network.
Typical business aviation in-flight broadband Internet services for the Pilatus PC-12 are very much more costly to install and to operate, compared to Agile Sky.
Our innovative system installation approach provides an outcome that is simply better, in both technical and financial terms.
Invisible Installation with no aerodynamic penalty
There is no ugly and drag-inducing 'bump' on the cabin roof in our design.
This means that there is no aerodynamic penalty when the system is installed on your aircraft.
The in-cabin control and WiFi gateway is also installed invisibly, behind a side-wall panel
The only visible indication of the system being present is a circuit breaker on the co-pilot breaker panel.
Advanced Bandwidth Control Features
The Agile Sky in-cabin WiFi gateway has been designed to provide flexible and cost efficient access to in-flight broadband.
Two WiFi networks are created inside your cabin.
- The first WiFi network, for passengers, has a download rate limit applied. This limit provides you, as the service operator, with the most cost effective outcome possible, without compromising the practical utility of the service.
- The second WiFi network, intended for the use of the aircraft flight crew, offers configuration management access to the Starlink terminal and allows full download data rates from the Starlink network.
Operationally Proven
Agile Sky has been in successful operation on our development aircraft since early 2025. Achieved real world performance and reliability have been excellent.
The performance and availability of Starlink Internet services is not guaranteed, especially in the very dynamic in-flight environment.
In practice, our real world experience is that system availability is usually very high, and recovery from occasional system dropouts is entirely automatic.
